target audience

For my final documentary all tho i haven't conducted a survey or a focus group in my spear time i asked several people that i know have seen documentary what they like to see and what they think work well. I got plenty of responses and some of them i thought was very reasonable and i thought were quite good. They said that documentary were quiet boring unless you did it or watch it on something that you know that people have a passion for that is why i am doing my documentary aimed and the younger generation and at people that love to game. I am going to try and make this enjoyable for the hole family so that you will be able to sit down with them and all of you will be able to learn more about gaming and what effects they have on your life when you play them to many times and when you do not no when to take a break. I think that young people have to learn all the effects that gaming have on them and what it will lead up to later on in life. i will be trying to add facts which are in video form from kids that have actually suffered the consequences of gaming this will be so that the young children that are watching the doc will have a first person knowledge of what happens when you play to many video games.

final evaluation

For my final project have have made a documentary about gaming and the effects that it has on people. For this i have done some research into gaming and the effects but to get a better understanding i conducted interviews. This was so then i could get the opinions from people that have to live with gamers and what effects they have seen on the children. I have also interviewed gamers to see if they have an opinion on what gaming has do to them and there social life this was because i think that they might be able to shed some light on why they game and how it helps them. Where when i asked people that don't game i ask them because they will be able to see what it effects it has them when they do game a lot.

Strengths

1. One of my strengths for this task is to get all the interviews that i needed and being able to get it with good angles and lighting.
2. Another will be getting all the gameplay footage that i will be showing in the documentary.
3. using the equipment correctly to get the best quality picture.
4. asking people for there opinions and what the would like to change
5. creating all the questions that i needed for the interviews and making them different

weaknesses

1. Getting people organised and ready to do all the interviews
2. I think that i could improve on my editing so that i am not spending to long looking through my clips that i have shot
3. I think that i could improve on my timing so that i don't leave every thing to the last minute and get it all done with time to spear so that i can edit and improve anything that needs improving.
4. Getting all the set up ready i think that i could have planned every thing out better so that i would no what i was filming on what day.
5. I think that i could have done better with a time plan and not do all the non important things first.

I choose to do the theme of a documentary because i think that it was the best way to get the subject across i thought that it would be good because i could look into the history of gaming and use that with the knowledge that i had got from other people this was so i will be able to set it out in the form that i think will get my opinion and other peoples opinion out for the people to watch. I think that this will work well so that gamers and parents can watch this together so they will be able to see others opinion and how they have helped there children fight the addiction of gaming. 
I got the idea for this from a documentary that i had watched when i was younger that told people about the effects of gaming and the impact that it has had on them. I had found that interesting but there hasn't been a documentary on it i a long time and there has been many new games that have been released. I think that they have had a catastrophic effect on children which causes an addiction.
I did several experiments leading up to the final project i had to try and work out where would be the best location to shoot the interviews and what the lighting would look like. I found that the best location to shoot the interviews where in the garden of my house because i found that it was the best location for lighting and that there was no glare on peoples faces from the sun. It was not in peoples eyes and it was the most quietest spot i could find.
I also experimented with the angles that i could use to make the final piece look more better and to make it stand out. In the end i only shot it from one angle this was because when i moved the angle you could see a glare on peoples faces from the sun so i kept it all as one angle which gave me the best quality.
I also experimented with the edit this was so i will be able to see what it is like to have to try and edit with interviews and have game play that i had to work with i found it very easy but there was some struggles trying to get the timing right with the people talking.

I think that some of the key areas for development would be the filming aspect of it. I think that i could have done better by scheduling when people could film interviews instead of hoping that they would have been able to do it.

When i showed the final product to all my family and peers they thought that it was good with all the edits that i have put into it and that they thought it was different to what they are use to. i also got feedback from them and they said that i could of used less gameplay to make it better and that they didn't just want to watch that. another would be that they thought it would be better if i did a voice over on the gameplay with facts about gaming.

I think that i could have added more to the written part of the work and i think that i could have planned it out some more so that it would have had a schedule to follow with out leaving it all to the last minute so then i had to rush the ending part of the film.

For my FMP i set out to make a documentary that included all the things you will wish to see in it i was going to do interviews with family and friends and i was going to have gameplay with a narrative over the top with facts about gaming. I managed to get most of the things on there that i wanted but i think that i could have done a lot more if i had started it when i was given it instead of leaving it all to the last minute. I think that if i started it early i could of added the narrative with all the facts that i have planned that i would do and i think that i could have done a better job with the editing if i had more time. I also had to change the time of my documentary and had to cut out some of the interviews because i didn't have enough time to go through all of the footage that i had. during the editing stage i found that people my get bored when they are watching the gameplay part so i put some music over the top so that it will take there mind of what they are watching.

When I started this project i was a bit nervous i didn't no what i was going to do and how i was going to do it but when i started the planning for it i got more confident because i new that i was doing it on something that i think i am good at and what i like to do. i new when i got started it will be good because i was good with a camera and i know where i can get a good shot to make it all stand out from other peoples work. I think that this task went a lot better than i anticipated and i think that i came out with a good piece of work. When i got the feedback from people that have watched it i found that they liked it but they think that it still might be a bit to long and that i have to much gameplay because it overpowers the interviews and that there are to many gameplay scenes. they liked how i added the music to try and add more detail to the film and try and make the gameplay look better. I think that if i had to do the task again i will try and make it more bearable so that people will actually want to watch it and i will try and add the narrative over the top of the gameplay. i think that i will start the task when it is first given to me instead of working on unnecessary things first. i think that i will try and conduct a better survey to try and see what people like to see and what they don't like to see this is so then i will get things that people will like and not what i think that they will want to see.

FMP RESEARCH

Primary research
For the primary research I have been looking at documentaries that have been created by other people on the topic that I will be doing. I have found out some good information and some inspiration that I think I will be able to work into my piece of work. I have found that there are many different ways game designers get people hooked on there games/product they try to create more sequels for the games they have released so that people will start to get addicted to them. When I was looking into what makes people get addicted to video games I found that it can make people more violent and make them more vulnerable to violence. If you often playing video games for long periods of time without taking regular breaks you will start to get server illnesses. I think that this will give me all of the information and the ideas that I need to make the best doc ever which will get people interested.

for my primary research i was looking at many documentaries that have been made over the years of first person shooters and trying to get some inspiration so that i will be able to use it in my final project. i have been looking at them to see how they have laid it out and how they have got people interested in them

Strategy Instagram

For this task i will list out what i will be doing in the order that i wish to complete the tasks i think that this order will be best suitable for me because then i will be able to cross everything that i would have done.

for this task i will first start of by creating a Instagram account this will be so i will have a place to upload my images that i will be creating and where i will be able to see how many people have looked at my account. I will also be able to see what pictures people love the most.

figure out where to go?
after creating the account i would have to find different locations that i would be able to go and take the pictures. I will be doing this so i will be able to find a good spot to have the best quality picture and different to other people.

take pictures
I will then be going to take the pictures this will take a while so then i will be able to get the best natural lighting to make them look even better than what i wanted. I will have to take my time so i will be able to find the best location possible.

edit them
Once i have all of my picture i will be taking the back to college so then i will be able to edit them to make them the best quality that i can get this would not take me long.

upload them
When they are all edited and i think that they are at the best standard i think i can get them i will then upload them to Instagram this is where people will be able to see all the pictures and the quality that they are and so they will be able to send feedback and tell me where i will be able to improve.

measuring engagement

For this task i was asked to keep an eye on my account that i have created so then i will be able to see how much attention it was bringing. I found that i got a lot more followers when i started to add # (hashtags) to them this brought a wider audience to my profile and the pictures that i have taken. I was getting several likes on each image that i uploaded i was getting between 1 and 10 likes on each image over the week that is more than i thought i would get.

three ideas for the FMP

For this I had thought of three ideas that I had made a mind map for and think of all the things that I would do for this task. I have chosen to look into cars, football and FPS (First Person Shooter games) for this I looked into all the things that I could look up for each task and what will be good as part of my FMP. I thought that I would do this on something that I love to do which will be FPS games and the history behind it.

For this my strategy for this will be to get the photos when the sun is out and when i have the best lighting possible this will be so then i will be able to get the natural effect on all the photos that i take.

I will be trying to get the best quality photos possible this will be so they will look good and they will stand out for this I will be making sure that the camera that I will be using will be in focus and then it will stand out i will then use the editing software on instagram to make it look like the best quality.

location
I will be trying to look for all types of locations in and around bath so then i will be able to get the best quality photos. I think that some of the best places i will be able to look will be the park and the city center that is where i thin will be the best place to get some good pictures for this project.

what i will be using
For this i will be asking to use a DSLR camera so then i will be able to get the best quality photos for the project that i will be doing. I think that it will be better if  use this camera so then will be able to get some good long distance shots and some good close ups for better quality.


who i will be using?
For this i will be asking people in my class to be in the picture not only to have them in the picture but to give it more effect sand give it better quality in the task that i will be doing. If i have more people in the picture then i think that it will give it more quality.

what shots it will be?
I will be taking several shots i will try and have some over the shoulder shots to give it more effect and so then i will be able to have a good background in the shot.

But then they went on to say that they get cards from their grand parents and they were more likely to have a religious aspect to it. They often send cards with santa who is based on Saint Nicholas. They will also have an aspect on the birth of jesus with the nativity scene on the front of the card.

Today we were ask to proceed on doing a focus group, this is where they will asked several questions on a subject in this case we had to conduct a focus group to see what people like on christmas cards and what they don't like.I found that people like to have a medium sized card so then it will have an equal amount of space for text and images this will be what they want. I have also found out that they like to have plenty of colours that are to do with christmas for example (white,blue,green,red,black) I think that they will make a good card if they have all the features that people like. for this task we were asked to create a questionnaire to go out and ask people around the college and the public to fill it in. For this we had several questions and we had plenty of feedback from the public that answered the questions. All of are findings that we have got we made into a chart presentation and added loads of information and text with it.

For this one we had several question that we had asked people one of them was "what is most useful for you to keep organised?" the most appealing answer to the audience is a to do list that they have a to do list this is the most common answer that we have got from the public.
The other question we have asked is "how do you approach a task" which was another good question that we got a lot of feed back on we got a joint count on the amount of responses we got for the question. Which there are 8 votes a piece of (work from the beginning) and (other) these are the best answers that we got back from the public.

 I found that I could use these methods in everyday life and also in my college work I will be able to plan out what I will need to do in any of the tasks that I need done and in the order of what is the most important. I will be able to also use this in tasks that I have been set at home and all the schedules that I will be able to use to keep me on task and keep me focused on the task that I have been set.

today i was asked to find different letters on the internet and use them to make an animation that has the letters come onto the page to spell out my name. I have used different styles of letters to make it stand out so people will like it. I liked doing the animation because it was different and i find it more enjoy able.


i did it in photoshop first without having to animated it and i found it good and i liked it better than actually having to wright it all out.

Then we had to move to turn it into and animated gif i liked that part of the lesson because i found it better because i like to animate a lot i enjoyed this more than having to put them in without animating it.

My original reaction to this that it was very unusual and different to what we are used to creating in the lesson. I think that it worked well with the high passed music that it was following and that they worked well to try and make the animation fit with the music. When the music went faster they went into a different colour of animation. I think that they did well with the colours that they used to give it more effect and that it is different to the usual black and white which will just make the video all dull and boring with the bight colours that they have used it gives the audience more reason to stick around and finish the video. They used plenty of friendly characters that people no and that they have used characters that kids love this is what made it different when they used friendly characters with just dark music.

what was it all about?
I think that it was showing or symbolising the affects of dementia and what it could do to a person i think that when he was walking it was showing it as if he was walking through time and how it will get worse over time.When he is pointing the gun at his head and he is looking at the other bodies he is hesitant and is probably rethinking his views when the nurse slaps his face it is like she is trying to wake him up from a bad dream this shows that there are people out there to help you redeem your view on life.

what was your reaction?
I thought that it was very strange at the beginning until they were getting further through the story it started to then make a little more sense. When it got to the end that is when the story actually came together and made sense in that he was thinking that he was somewhere else other in the hospital.It was like he was in the place he wanted to be and the place where he fought he would be safe but then came to realisation at the end with the nurse.

what did you think of the animation?
I like the animation very well it was good how they made it 3D and this made it stand out and make it look more believable.i think that they did well with the colours but when he was walking along the lower dec of the ship i thought that it was a bit to dark for the viewers but that is what gave it more effect in the story they are trying to tell the viewers.

today we were asked to go around town and find leaflets and a news paper so that we will be able to make a scrap book when we got to the lesson we then got set some task we had to do these are some of the task that we had to do.

 for this task we were asked to make a short story board of what we could make we had to use stamps to make them so i used the alien, the car and the umbrella i don't think that it was m best work and i think that i will be able to do a better job next time.

for this one we were asked to take a leaflet that we had collected and cut it up so it will look different to what the leaflet looked like before we cut it up.

A scrap book is a book were you put what ever you like and anything that you will like to remember in the future. They will use anything that they think will make them happy and will make them want to carry on.

I was asked to get into a group and asked to come up with a name for an advertising company I worked well with the group to get a name that will stand out and what people will like. We were then asked what was happening in todays news and seen how long it will take people to give an answer i found that difficult because i do not watch the news. Then we had to think of an advertisement for a car add we were show a picture of the royal family and asked to create an ad that will link cars to the royal family we did an advertisement on the Range Rover it went well and we worked well as a group to get are ideas down.

My audience will be anybody that likes to explore new areas and people that like photography. I think that they will like the stuff that i will be uploading for this because it is different to what the group are doing. I think people online will like the shots and the details that are in them. I think that they will be good and that I will be trying to take as much time as possible to make them look really good and stand out more than others.

It is found that there is a 25.2 percent of users in the U.S is aged between 25 and 34. The second largest in the U. S is 18 to 24 year olds at 20.6. Around the world there are an average of 18-29 year olds that use Instagram around the world. I will use this to my advantage and try to base the pictures that i will be taking around that age range to try and get a young audience that will like the pictures that i will be taking.

there are a lot more women that use Instagram more than men this is so they will be able to shear all of there photos tat they have taken and they are more likely to try and document everything they like to do. I will be basing the images that i will be taking around women and what they will like to see on a Instagram profile.

I will try to look for locations that look good on camera and that are like other places in the world and what i think people will like to see.

i have created 5 small designs this is so that we were able to practice how to draw and what you will have to do to make it stand out. I have drawn a mug, a sun, a pencil, a light bulb and a t-shirt.

I have also created a poster of what to do if someone needs CPR. The poster has all the information what to do and it also has a picture of where you should put your hands. I think that it will appeal to lots of people because they may need to use it in the future.

we have been asked to design a child toy that they will be able to connect and disconnect together. We have decided to do animals this is where there legs heads and tails will disconnect from the body and you will be able to alter them with different animals that you will be getting in a box of 10.All the boxes will have a different theme to what the other boxes have i think this will then get more children interested in the toy.

I found that the part when they had a team of artist working together to make the portrait of the person this shows that you will be able to work together to make something great and to make something stand out. I liked this because they all new what role they had and what they had to do. they were all able to work around each other to make something great. And it also showed me that you don't have to work alone to make something good you can work as a team to make something even more beautiful than what you would be abel to do alone.

I also found that the part when it showed all the different people that were doing different styles of art were all different i liked this because this showed me that art isn't for certain type of people. This is for people that believe that they can do it and want to learn and put the time in to make something good.

This is often still used in modern day media formats including social media. For example when people use Instagram they always put content up on the social media platform's for example when they are trying to show only something what is tidy and not what it actually looks like. They will always crop out the mess and keep all the tidy content that might not actually be true to life. Also when celebrities are using Instagram to try and advertise something they want to try and get their followers to believe everything they say.





Two step flow
The two flow step theory will work well on Instagram because you will be able to have a load of followers, you will be able to have a better spread of follower. This will be able to get more people to like you and this will also get businesses to look at your account and probably ask you to promote there product. Businesses commonly use celebrities with a large following count to often promote there products on social media.This is because they will have more people to show and they will be able to spread the product in a bigger range of people.

I will describe it by they start at the social media stage the move to opinion leaders then they will be able to shear it to a mass of people.
This is where a company or a brand try to get a celebrity with a wide audience to promote them and then get there fans to keep spreading it. They will be payed to give a good review and to get people to buy the product that they are trying to sell.

in the second part of the lesson we were asked to create an animation. This is where you will have to create a ball and then animate it to move on the screen. we also had to learn how to use the tools and what will be good to use for this project. I had used around 30 frames and made sure that they all had a good amount of movement in it i think that i worked well on what i had to do and i think that i have learnt a lot about the software that i have used.

today we have been asked to create several designs we had to design a logo for are selves and then we had to then we had to go to a place where there are people then draw them in an image i have chosen to do two big letters of my initials then i did a sketch to byron in front of the bath abbey holding pigeons i have tried to then draw it out into the sketch book i think that i have done well but i think that i could have done better if i had tried harder.

this is where i had then chosen to draw byron with the pigeons in front of the abbey i think that i have done well for my first try and that i thought that it would have been easier than what it actually was.

I liked this business card because it is interactive and different to what people are use to using I think that it is a good design I think that it will work well as a Business card but some of the down falls will be that you might burn yourself when you are trying to Revel the information on the card and that you might not be able to get all the information that you want to get on the business card and that the text that will be on the card will be to small for some people to read.

I like that you will have to try to work so that you will be able to get all the information that you will be looking  for on the business card.
